Subtraction with Borrowing

Solve: 42 - 17.

Calculation Steps:

  1. 1Check Ones: 2 < 7, borrowing is needed.
  2. 2Borrow 1 Ten from 4, leaving 3 Tens. Ones becomes 12.
  3. 3Subtract Ones: 12 - 7 = 5.
  4. 4Subtract Tens: 3 - 1 = 2.
