Scale Mapping Distance

On a map, the scale is 2 cm = 1 km. If two places are 8 cm apart on the map, what is the actual distance between them?

Calculation Steps:

  1. 1Scale: 2 cm = 1 km. Therefore, 1 cm = 0.5 km.
  2. 2Multiply map distance by scale factor: 8 * 0.5 = 4 km.
