Square Root by Long Division

Find the square root of 729 using division method.
root αroot βy = ax² + bx + c

Calculation Steps:

  1. 1Group digits in pairs from right: 7 and 29.
  2. 2Find largest square ≤ 7: 2² = 4. Subtract 4 from 7, leaving 3. Bring down 29, divisor 2 becomes 4.
  3. 3Find digit x such that 4x * x ≈ 329. Try x = 7: 47 * 7 = 329.
  4. 4Square root is 27.
