Syllabus Guidelines & Introduction
An essay is an organized piece of writing focused on a specific topic. Unlike a single paragraph, an essay contains multiple paragraphs, allowing for deeper exploration of ideas and arguments.

Introduction
Contains a hook, background information, and a clear thesis statement summarizing the main argument.
Body Paragraphs (typically 2-3)
Each paragraph develops a single sub-point with evidence, examples, and analysis.
Conclusion
Restates the thesis in a new way, summarizes body points, and provides a final closing thought.
Essential Rules to Follow
- •Thesis Statement: Write a strong thesis statement in your introduction. This is the backbone of your entire essay.
- •Transitions: Use transitions between paragraphs (e.g., On the other hand, Consequently, In summary) to guide the reader.
- •Register: Use a formal, objective, and academic tone. Avoid contractions (don't, can't) and first-person pronouns where possible.
